The Journal of Abdominal Surgery is a specialized academic surgical journal sponsored by the Wuhan Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and distributed publicly in China and abroad. Its standard serial numbers are ISSN 1003-5591 and CN 42-1252/R. Founded in 1988 by Academician Qiu Fazhu, the journal’s title was inscribed by Academician Wu Jieping. The editorial board comprises renowned surgeons from across China. Professor Wu Zaide serves as Honorary Editor-in-Chief, Professor Chen Xiaoping as Editor-in-Chief, and Professors Cai Changchun, Chen Yajin, Dai Chaoliu, Ding Youming, Gao Yongshun, Hu Junbo, Li Ziyu, Liu Lianxin, Liu Rong, Mao Yilei, Ren Jian’an, Shen Feng, Tang Zhaohui, Tao Kaixiong, Yuan Yufeng, and Zhang Bixiang as Deputy Editors-in-Chief. Professor Zhu Peng serves as Executive Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Professor Chen Xiaoping, the current Editor-in-Chief, is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Honorary Dean of Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Director of the Department of Surgery and Director of the Institute of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Director of the Key Laboratory of Organ Transplantation of the Ministry of Education, Director of the Key Laboratory of Organ Transplantation of the National Health Commission, Director of the Key Laboratory of Organ Transplantation of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and Chair of the Expert Committee of the China Organ Donation Administrative Center.
